What Coastal Collective does — in plain terms
Coastal Collective is a software platform that sits between a trader's strategy logic and the APIs of their broker accounts. We don't manage money, we don't give investment advice, and we don't sell signals. What we build and maintain is the connectivity layer — authenticated API bridges to supported brokers, a rule-execution engine that fires orders on defined conditions, and a risk-control module that blocks orders exceeding the trader's own configured limits. The platform is built in București and operated under EU jurisdiction, with all execution data stored on EU servers. Our clients are independent retail traders and small professional trading desks in Romania, the wider EU, and a growing number of accounts from traders in non-EU countries who choose the platform for its EU data standards.
How the team works and what we've learned since 2021
The core team is four engineers and one client-onboarding specialist. We started building Coastal Collective in 2021 after two of the founders spent years running manual strategies across three separate broker platforms and found every available automation tool either too opaque, too expensive, or simply unreliable at the broker-connection layer. By mid-2023 the platform had processed over 180,000 live orders across client accounts. Our development approach is incremental and client-driven: every major feature released since launch — including the no-code visual builder and the multi-account risk dashboard — was prioritized based on direct feedback from active users, not a product roadmap written in isolation. We hold weekly internal reviews of execution latency, broker API stability, and error rates, and we publish a monthly status report to all subscribers. The slate-professional interface you see reflects the same values: clean information, no decorative noise, every number readable at a glance.
What we don't do — and why we're direct about it
Coastal Collective is a tool, not a service that trades on your behalf. We don't provide trading signals, we don't recommend strategies, and we don't optimize your parameters for better results. Backtesting results on historical data are informational — they don't predict future performance and we will never frame them as such. If your broker changes their API in a way that temporarily breaks a connection, we work to restore it as fast as possible, but short-duration outages during broker-side maintenance windows are outside our control. The platform is appropriate for traders who have a defined strategy, understand the technology they're deploying, and accept that automated execution carries the same market risks as manual trading — with the added operational dimension of infrastructure reliability.
